FAQ's
- Is obligatory civil liability adaptable to the provisions of the Rules for pleasure boats?
Yes, cover is determined in accordance with the limits, terms and conditions established in Royal Decree ("Real Decreto") 607/1999 of 16 April, by which the Obligatory Subscription Civil Liability Insurance Rules for pleasure or sporting boats are approved, and in accordance with the provisions of Law 27/1992 in respect of State Ports and Merchant Marines, in article 78 thereof.
- Can I also insure my boat whilst I charter it to a third party?
The Ibermarine product allows you to take out cover on boats registered in lists 6 and 7 and, as such, it includes those destined for charter, but only when accompanied by crew.
- Does the insurance cover towage of the boat?
In the case of an accident, rescue costs of the boat and its occupants will only be covered up to the limit of the boat's value, as set out in the cover clauses.
Costs of towage to the nearest port when the boat is unable to sail on its own can be contracted as an optional guarantee (so long as the reason is not because of lack of fuel).
